Wierton 16th June
Just popped down to Wierton for a little more practise, as we have not fished it a great deal. The last in the match in the evening shield will be fished here in 4 weeks time.
As we arrived around 10:30, the sun was out, but with a really strong southerly wind, we decided to set up behind the island for a bit of shelter.
We both set up on the feeder, and were fishing just short of the island with 8mm Red Robin pellets in Sonu krilled groundbait. It didn’t take long before Ryan had his first fish, a roach of about 1lb, and in beautiful condition.
The bream then started feeding, and we were soon pulling them in at almost a fish a cast for about 30 minutes. It then went a little quiet for about 20 minutes, before they started to feed again. This went on for the rest of the day, before the wind really got up, and was now coming round from the West at about 4pm, making it very difficult to see bites properly. As we had caught around 50 fish for a weight of 60lb, we decided to call it a day.
