Nickolls Spring pairs
Well after a couple weeks off fishing due to exams and not enjoying it as much I fished the first day of the Nickolls pit pairs.
I drew peg 1 which can be a flyer on the right day. I’ve started on the feeder and in the first hour I’d had 3 bream so it was looking like it was going to be a good day. It’s then gone quiet so I’ve rested it and gone onto the pole and straight away I’ve had a bream. Throughout the rest of the match I’ve switched between the feeder and the pole catching a couple bream on one line and then resting it and fishing the other line.
I finished up with 20 bream and a few skimmers for 66lb which won the match😋 and my partner Scott Dampier managed a good weight from a poor area which meant we were first in the pairs heading into day 2👍
Unfortunately I was up all night being sick so I couldn’t fish today which I was gutted about. So my dad filled in for me, and he’s done an amazing job, winning his section today and adding 20lb to the weight, with Scott adding 10lb. This meant we ended up with 104lb overall which was enough to win the pairs 😊👍🍾🍾
I’d like to thank Barry Chapman for running a great event, also a big well done to Scott and my dad.
Also thanks to Peter Curd for great bait👍
