Monk lakes, Bridges
It was forecast to be a sunny day, but as we left home at 08:00, there was still a heavy frost, and it was -1c.
We set up with our backs to the slight breeze, with Ryan on the pole and me on the feeder. It looked certain to be hard work first thing, as there was still ice in the edges.
It certainly proved to be difficult, as we had still not caught after 2hrs, and only seen 1 fish caught between the 20 or so people around the lake.
Eventually Ryan caught a skimmer bream around 1 1/2lb, so things looked as if they would change.
Unfortunately this wasn’t the case, and apart from the guy next to us catching a mallard, only 2 other fish caught around the lake when we decided to call it a day at 2pm. Roll on double figure temperatures.
