Great Danes evening session
After a fairly drizzly day, we decided to head for the Danes for a couple of hours as the weather improves. We arrive just after 5pm, and set up in the newly made swim in the far corner.
Feeding some micro pellets and hemp on a pole line around 8m, and a 4mm expander on the hook, there soon appear a few bubbles from the area showing some activity. After about 20 mins, the float disappears and Ryan is in to a carp. A fairly quick fight due to using a heavyish elastic, and the first fish is in the net.
Back in again, and after a few small roach & the odd gudgeon, Ryan seems to miss a bite as the float dips and comes up very quickly, but the elastic pulls out, and fish on. Another carp about 3lbs, and we notice it only has 1 eye, but is in very good condition.
Still steadily catching small roach, and 1 more carp, it has been a good session for the 2hrs, and looks like the fish are becoming a lot more active now the temperatures have finally picked up.
We will try and get a few more of these sessions in with the longer, and hopefully brighter evenings to come.
