Barming Float-Only result – 23rd June
A healthy 17 showed up for the first in the series of 6 float-only matches, despite the river being in poor form.
The result was similar to Wednesday due to the the fact that three anglers managed to tempt Bream, leaving the rest to scratch for small fish.
Newcomer Tim Hughes won with two Bream and some bits from peg 11 upstream (end peg) with Jon Overton losing out by just one ounce from the peg that won Wednesdays match, 18 down.
Third place went to our new member from Poland, Peter Kret with two Bream again. (and yes they were returned to the water!)
Ryan struggled to get the waggler over to the far bank, which was where he caught his bream on Wednesday, and due to the rocks, was unable to fish the pole, even snagging up when plumbing the depth. he made the decision to fish the whip between 4m – 6m, with maggot and pinkie. Despite missing a lot of really delicate bites, he did mange to land 18 bleak, which really wasn’t bad for his peg and the way the river was fishing.
